The MindfulMamma® Hypnobirthing Class

What’s included, class prices and how to book.

This is no ordinary hypnobirthing class. Our MindfulMamma® hypnobirthing class is all about your mindset and your partner’s mindset. We focus our teaching on how your thoughts, and your partner’s thoughts and actions can affect your body during pregnancy and labour, and what you can do to ensure you remain calm and relaxed to allow your body to what it is designed to do.

By including practical hypnosis and mindfulness techniques, as well as enhanced understanding of the physiology of birth, we teach you as a couple what you need to know to feel really prepared for birth, and the techniques to learn that will enable you to have a positive, calm and confident birth.

Using hypnosis to manage your beliefs about birth, and mindfulness to keep you in the moment, will enable you to cultivate a sense of clarity, inner calm and compassion towards your birth and into your journey as a mother.  

The MindfulMamma® Hypnobirthing Class is Accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.

Classes are suitable from 20 weeks, but aim for between 28 and 32 weeks if you can.

What will I learn?

The MindfulMamma® Hypnobirthing course is designed to provide you with all the techniques, knowledge and confidence you need to feel prepared, excited and relaxed about your birth. You will learn all the techniques to accompany the best selling book Mindful Hypnobirthing by Sophie Fletcher.

  • Accelerated self-hypnosis and mindfulness techniques so your body reacts and relaxes quickly to labour (accompanied by 9 mp3 tracks of  unique rapid conditioning)

  • How to recognise and release your fears about birth

  • Ways your partner can support you using hypnosis and mindfulness

  • How to feel confident and prepared for your birth

  • How to ask the right questions, be in control of your choices and why that’s important

  • Why transition can send you off track and how you can both manage it

  • Why environment matters and what to do about it

  • Your birthing partner will be shown how to support you mentally and physically

  • Why communication matters and how mindset helps

  • Hypnobirthing, relaxation and mindfulness techniques

  • To feel excited and look forward to the birth of your baby!

Group classes are held at The Wellness Barn, a beautiful space in the Essex countryside.

Our group classes are held at The Wellness Barn, a beautiful space where you will feel calm as soon as you walk through the door. Private classes can be booked directly with me and can be done in your own home or at my home, wherever you’d prefer, contact me for more details. The atmosphere of my classes are informal and friendly, come in your comfortable clothes and bring whatever you need to make you feel comfortable.

What to bring

Classes are informal and friendly, bring whatever makes you feel relaxed and comfortable.

It’s important you to feel as comfortable as possible during class so bring whatever helps you relax. Chairs, cushions, yoga mats and eye pillows will all be provided on the day. I have a couple of birth balls but I’d advise to bring your own so it is the right size for you. I will have a pump for the birth balls which you are more than welcome to use.

  • Birth ball - you can see an option to buy here

  • Large scarf or pashmina - for Rebozo techniques - Pasha Life Turkish Wraps are perfect for this

  • Comfortable clothes

  • Packed lunch (there isn’t a shop nearby, but we have a fridge and a little kitchen at The Wellness Barn where you can store your food)

  • Anything else that will keep you warm / cool and make you feel comfortable and relaxed

Private Classes

Private classes are a wonderful way to fully immerse yourself and your birth partner into the teaching. I will be able to tailor the class and techniques specifically to you and your own needs and preferences. Private classes can take place in your own home or in my home, whatever you’d prefer. The class can be run as a whole day, or can be split into shorter sessions if that suits you better.
